ARTIST IN RESIDENCE IN MOLDE
Next week Nils Petter Molvaer´s eagerly anticipated „Artist in Residence” starts at the Molde International Jazz Festival in Norway. In cooperation with the festival Nils Petter Molvaer has selected the musicians and bands who he will appear with during the coming week in various venues around town. Together with those artists he has developed individual programmes, some of which will be performed for the first time ever. |

Nils Petter Molvaer has been trendsetting in the development of ambient music since his first album release “Khmer” (ECM) in 1998. He is well known for creating unique and dramatic sound-scapes of deep intensity. His music guides the listener into a world of orgiastic sounds that create visual images in the listener´s brain.
Consequently Nils Petter Molvaer´s concerts are accompanied by elaborate light-shows. Nils Petter Molvaer continues to develop repertoire and broaden the approach to jazz and cross-over music and combines his music with sounds from various ethnological backgrounds. He is planning a new album recording for later this year and further touring in 2011.
